📖 Storyline

Is a reimagining of the 1974 kidnapping of heiress Patricia Hearst by the revolutionary Symbionese Liberation Army and her subsequent indoctrination into the group. Using the assumed name Iris, former revolutionary Jenny is hiding in plain sight working as a caretaker to elderly and acerbic Miss Dolly in upstate New York, when she is recruited by revolutionary ex-colleagues, in a change of their circumstance, to be one of the guards for kidnapped Pauline (the Hearst character) at an isolated farmhouse. By this time, Pauline seems to be a willing captive in now going along with her captors. Jenny is only one of three doing the around the clock work, the other two being lovers Juan and Yvonne. It is not a three against one but every person for him/herself in their outward differences, thus begging the question how long the four can maintain their cohabitation while continuing their revolutionary work and evading the authorities. Jenny, who used to do work such as build bombs, is a pacifist in ensuring that the bombs were detonated where no lives would be at risk, and that any captive, such as Pauline, is treated within the directives of the Geneva Convention. On the other end is Juan, who wears his violent tendencies on his sleeve, and associated states he is willing to die for the cause, although Yvonne notes from her perspective that he has been conspicuously absent when any major bloodshed has occurred. And while she is involved in their revolutionary activities regardless of if she has truly turned or has been brainwashed, Pauline will never be fully accepted by Yvonne and especially Juan in his taunts of calling her "princess". —Huggo
